Our qualified mechanics, Ben, Dale and Dylan, have been around cars most of their lives. It all started back in their teenage years, tinkering on their own cars and helping out mates; figuring out how to fix things well without spending a fortune. What started as basic maintenance on everyday cars soon grew into more specialised work.
Ben developed a passion for going fast which meant a lot of tinkering on his and his mate's cars. Fitting performance parts, working out how each component works and the property that added performance. It didn’t take long to go through a myriad of cars, from hot 4 hatches, to turbo charged 6 cylinders finally culminating in the car that Ben’s wife called Penny. His flagship performance car that he and his mates built together, 7 litres of supercharged Holden V8 goodness packed into a Commodore wagon putting out 770hp to the rear tyres. It was one fast car that left all the HSV’s well behind it. The boys then dived into four-wheel drives, with Ben’s first build (a Holden Colorado) even featuring in the 4x4 Australia Magazine in 2017. It didn’t take long, and they were building a very tall Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and a couple of Ford Rangers.
The team have built solid careers in the automotive industry, with over 45 years of combined experience across servicing, maintenance, modifications, and management in both major and independent dealerships.
Along the way, they also saw how things can go wrong—dodgy diagnosis, rushed jobs, and customers left in the dark.
Phoenix Mechanical was built to be the opposite of that.
